The capital and largest city of the United Kingdom, it is also the largest city in Western Europe and the European Union. London is one of the great "world cities," and remains a global capital of culture, fashion, finance, politics and trade. Noisy, vibrant and truly multicultural, London is a megalopolis of people, ideas and energy.

London is the most diverse, international and intercultural city in Europe. British are only about 50% of the total population with almost all nations, ethnic groups and religions represented. The Central London community is even more international with foreigners representing about 75% of the population.

London will host the 2012 Summer Olympics.
